Volunteers are an important asset to NZSWA but must demonstrate the same professionalism and have the same obligations as staff members in matters such as service delivery, confidentiality, privacy and code of conduct.
Volunteers are currently under the supervision of the Service and Centre Manager and do not have contact with clients unless within this capacity. Volunteers are entitled to cover under the Health & Safety in Employment Act.
